Bidding Farewell

We are in the process of saying bye to a place we've called home for the past 8 years. Here in Nashville, Sanjeet and I have adopted a dog, bought our first house, started a family, got new jobs, finished (Alice) and started school (Sanjeet), and made lifelong friends and unforgettable memories that we will forever carry with us.

While what lies ahead of us has been a dream of mine for years (I first learned about the Foreign Service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in 2006), this does not make saying goodbye any easier. Yet I know in my heart, that it is the lucky ones that gets to be sad about leaving. It is a blessing that we've been able to build a home here that we will deeply miss.

In less than 2 weeks we will be driving to DC. I place I have never lived in and a place where Sanjeet has never even visited. This will only be the first move in a series of moves for us as we embark on this new "adventurous" life. I am constantly reminded that nothing comes without sacrifice.

With that said, I hope that this blog can serve as a telephone line, a Sunday morning brunch, a spontaneous playdate, a cafeteria work lunch, a summer backyard BBQ, that can help connect our lives to yours. As we float around the world, to stay anchored to our families and friends. And an invitation that our home (wherever we are) will always be open to our friends and family.
